3M™ Tape 4218P Double-Sided High-Tack Gray
Perfect for attaching LED lights in the car, under the car, in the bathroom, or kitchen! Original double-sided 3M™ tape with unique properties, specially developed for the attachment of exterior components. This special tape offers excellent adhesion to common paint systems and plastic surfaces used in the automotive industry. The tape comes with an easily removable protective liner and is easy to process. The 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4218P has two adhesives, one on each side of a 1.12mm acrylic foam core, designed for robust performance and shear strength on vehicle surfaces like clearcoats. The liner-side adhesive is formulated for high initial and final adhesion to rigid clearcoat systems. The non-liner side works with plastics and other common trim materials.
Designed for rigid and many non-rigid clearcoat systems
Our 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4218P was specifically developed for the attachment of exterior trims and other parts to clearcoat systems for vehicles. It features a dark gray 1.14mm acrylic foam core with two different adhesives – one for each side of the application. The liner-side adhesive is ideal for bonding with vehicle trims and other components. The non-liner-side adhesive is formulated for very high initial and final adhesion to scratch- and damage-resistant paint systems. The viscoelastic foam core also adapts well to complex geometries. It was designed for stress relaxation under high loads and maintains the aesthetic appearance of the bond line under normal loads. The dark gray color of the 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4218P provides a visually pleasing bond line aesthetic. A red liner with the 3M™ logo offers an easy, single-piece release for efficient application.
3M™ recommends using the 3M™ Automotive Adhesion Promoter 06396 for bonding with the 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4218P on all parts, especially plastics like RUM, TPO, PP, and PC.
